I just found the thread above thread and wanted to add, but it has been
closed. However, I noticed that the issue was never resolved.
I am experiencing the same problem with menus disappearing in Access
2000. I develop applications on Access 2003, but still using the Access
2000 file format so I can deploy on machines that only have 2000.
When I open the file in Acess 2003, all the menus appear properly.
When I open the file in Access 2000, the drop down portions of the
menus of SOME of my custom menus are missing.
What is most interesting is when I open the same file in Access 2003
again, the menus are STILL THERE!
Because I deploy the file in mde format, I must create the mde in
Access 2000. When I create the mde, the menus are MISSING.
I should add that if I create menu items in Access 2000, they "stick,"
i.e., they are not lost.
One thing I picked up in the above thread is about the installation
dialog appearing when switching back and forth between Acess 2000 and
Access 2003. (I am using the same machine. How do I make 2000 and 2003
coexist properly on the same machine?) That does happen on my machine,
both when I run Access 2000 for the first time and when I run Acess
2003 next.
What are my options? I need to deploy an 2000 format mde because I have
users who do not have Access 2003. To do so I have to create the MDE in
Access 2000.
