Hi,

I am trying to syncronize two replicas, but it cannot be completed because

of the error shown below. I use direct syncronization with all database

objects (tables, queries, and forms). Access 2003 version

"The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add.

Try inserting or pasting less data. (Error 3163)"

thanks in advance

Find the record that is causing the problem. Record the data in that

record (it's easiest to copy it and paste it into an Excel

spreadsheet). Then clean out all the data, re-run your synch, and

re-enter the data.

Be sure you do this *only* at the replica that's the source of the

problem.

Well, that's a replication error, and each record in the the

conflict table should say why it's there, so you'd be looking for

the error message you're experiencing. Then you have to take the

record's GUID and find it in the real table, and see what you can

see there. But it's important to realize that you're likely to have

data at one replica that differs from all the other replicas, so you

need to know which replica is producing the error, as it's going to

have the new data.

You also probably want to compact each of the replicas. The error

you're getting is a common one for some kinds of corruption, if I'm

remembering correctly.
