Hello!

I don´t know if this is the right place for this question, but for me it´s

critical to know the answer for further planning.

We´ve written a very large application that runs on MS Access 2K3. It has a

Frontend, that links tables to so called "projects". Each Project is an

Access Database, that is getting linked after opening the project.

The questions are the following:

- is it possible to automate the upsizing process?

- is it possible to "load" and "unload" the databases in sql server 2005

like we did it using our projects?

The background is that our applications are mostly used by desktop users

which do not have any sql-server or any network servers at all, so we´re not

fully able to switch to a centralized architecture, but would like to use the

sql server express edition to gain more speed and possibilites.

I have not seen yet an upsizing API or command line tool that automates the

Access to SQL upsizing process. I got few requests to expose SSMA

functionality via API or command line tool but I'm not convinced yet there

is a big demand for that.

Hi,

you can automate upsizing process for tables, but other modifications you

have to do by yourself.

not sure what you mean on "load" and "unload", but you can backup/restore

data for databases, you can attach/detach databases in SQL server
