Hi Eddy Gonzalez,

Most "other applications" will not generate the high quantity of heat

that DirectX based games such as AOK will generate. :-)

I've been playing AOK for years and never had any technical problems, apart

from the odd lack of connection etc, but recently I bought a mega powerful

desktop repacement laptop, and whenever I start the game, after a while the

display goes funny, kind of over saturated and as if I only have 16 colours

displaying. This only happens whilst playing AOK and only on this laptop.

Does anyone know what this could be? Drivers incompatibility with my nVidia

card or laptop?

Cheers

Eddy

Just read a post from a person who was having similar problems and the reply

was that it could be drivers or overheating, well I've checked the drivers

and they are bang up to date so it could be overheating. Since the laptop is

a desktop replacement with dual core AMD FX64 and 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go

7900 GTX graphics it runs quite hot but I don't seem to be getting those

problems on any other application?

Cheers Greg, I'll try this and see if it works, hopefully it will as I don't

know what I can do to cool down my machine other than stick ice cubes

underneath it!

Hi Eddy Gonzalez,

They do sell laptop cooling pads at local electronic shops. :-)

Yes true although I've not managed to find one for a 17inch laptop. Anyway

changing the startup to 256 colours has sorted it out, cheers!

Hi Eddy Gonzalez,

That's a perfect workaround! :-)
