We need a function that goes through the item master using standard criteria 
 
and update the default costs (Purchase, Inventory and Sales Order) on the 
 
Price/Discount tab of the Item Master. This is especially useful for items in 
 
the standard cost model group, the clients may need to update the standard 
 
cost en masse.

Please include this as a parameter function and/or a checkmark on the 
 
dimension group that can be turned on/off. When a serial number has been 
 
sold, prevent receipt and subsequent issue of the the same serial number.

I have a question/problem regarding the change from AX 4.0 RTM to AX 4.0 
 
RTM LOC. I downloaded the LOC version. I simply want to add some more 
 
languages to my existing AX 4.0 RTM installation. So I copied the 
 
appropriate .ktd, .ald, ... and help files to the server´s, clients´s 
 
and apllication´s directory. Now I started AX and opened the license 
 
form but on the Language tab only the line for en-us and en-ca exist.

We're trying to find a parameter or setting to print checks with 
 
complete stubs.  Our system defaults to printing checks with no 
 
information on the stub.  The stub has no detailed invoice information 
 
showing. 
 
Is there a setting or parameter that needs to be set?  Any help is 
 
greatly appreciated.

We have a situation where the creation of a Gantt chart in AX 3.0 is not 
 
working from a Terminal Services client session but is from and RDP to the 
 
SQL server.  I first thought this was another table permissions issue, but 
 
now I don’t think so.  Both sessions are logged in as the same user.  In the 
 
Application Object Tree the Gantt chart is an ActiveX control.  Could it be 
 
something Activex-related has to be enabled/installed on the TS to enable 
 
ActiveX controls?

connecting as 3-tier thin client.  Recently we found that records 
 
inserted, updated or deleted on tables set to EntireTable caching 
 
method from one of the servers did not get replicated to the other by 
 
either the usual 60-second synchronisation or the synchronise done at 
 
midnight, as described in the document "Improved Caching.doc" found on 
 
the Axapta 2.5 installation CD.

When upgrading from 4.0 RTM to 4.0RTM Loc (or whenever you apply an newer 
 
kernel), the upgrade checklist appears and the admin is forced to go through 
 
it, although some of the steps are not necessary nor advisable. 
 
Since the system can determine, which version was installed before, the 
 
checklist should contain only thoses steps which have to be performed: in 
 
this case neither Data cleanup nor Pre- and Postsynchronize-jobs should be 
 
part of this list.

Using AX 4.0 and receivied a new BUS layer from our software vendor along 
 
with replacement label files.  Shut down AOS, copied to application 
 
directory, restarted AOS, waited then started client.  The new application 
 
menu items are are label ID codes.  Was told to delete the label indes files 
 
to have the system rebuild.  Still no luck.  Any documentation I have says 
 
to start AX up in two tier mode to have the index rebuilt but that isn't 
 
going to happen in AX 4.0...

When i try to post the purchase invoice ,I am getting the following 
 
error message . 
 
"Account number for transaction type 'sales tax' does not exist". 
 
what i understood is there is no ledger account for posting the sales 
 
tax. but where can i specify the particular account to post the sales 
 
tax. 
 
also i usually get this error also 
 
"Account number for transaction type 'purchase , consumption' does not 
 
exist". 
 
how can i rectify these two errors.

invoiced you, and you would like to invoice him back fora commission which 
 
you would like to record in your system as revenue, how would you go about it 
 
without having to create a customer account for the said supplier?

We have a sales order for 100 pieces of item X and it has 6 route steps 
 
associated with it.  When master planning runs it creates a planned 
 
production order for the correct quantity and the finish date is correct. 
 
But, the first route step starts back on 8/16 and the requirement is for 
 
10/9.  If we go to Functions / ReSchedule with the Scheduling Direction set 
 
to backward from the requirment date it makes no change.  But if we change 
 
the Scheduling Direction to backward from sc ...

I have downloaded the AIF samples from MSDN and worked on the steps for 
 
setting up adapter-based exchange. I have configured the pre-requisites 
 
like setting up endpoints, channels, actions and started the batch 
 
jobs. The issue is whenever I drop a file in my Inbound folder, it gets 
 
picked up from there, but it's not coming up in the Outbound folder, 
 
neither any sales order has been created. 
 
Could anyone let me know what might me the problem?
