We have a sales order for 100 pieces of item X and it has 6 route steps
associated with it. When master planning runs it creates a planned
production order for the correct quantity and the finish date is correct.
But, the first route step starts back on 8/16 and the requirement is for
10/9. If we go to Functions / ReSchedule with the Scheduling Direction set
to backward from the requirment date it makes no change. But if we change
the Scheduling Direction to backward from scheduling date and set the
scheduling date to 10/9 the first route step does not get started until 10/3
(which is the way we would want and expect it).
My question is whay does it act this way? We use Operations Scheduling, and
if there is any information that is needed please let me know.
