Hi, in setting up the 4.0 dimension rules for a customer I wanted to bring
forward two suggestions:
1) if there is a x:1 relationship in the hierarchies between 2 dimensions,
please allow for defaulting the :1 value into the dimension field. Currently,
I can limit the selections to the 1 value that is possible but it would be
more practical to simply default it into the field once the other dimension
has been picked.
2) I have the following matrix to set up
Values in
GL account Department CC Purpose Department CC Purpose
1* None Optional None ALL
2* None Optional None ALL
3* None Optional None ALL
5* None Yes Yes
Specific ALL
6* None Yes Yes
Specific ALL
7* Yes Yes None ALL
Specific
8*, 9* None None None
The only way to set this right now with the new dimensions and rules is by
specifying each and every account in the rules set where I have to go down to
the ledger account level and cannot use the journal level. This is very
tedious and maintenance unfriendly.
Suggestion here: Please allow for specifying ranges of accounts in the
specification field vs. having to create a line for every single ledger
account in all diff. combinations, goes also for the journal setup (however
there are way fewer journals than accounts).
Thanks for listening,
Anja Fisher
