Is the Exchange IS starting OK with the original databases? If so you can

use Exmerge to pull out the mailboxes as .pst files.

If you name the recovery server the same name and address it the same ip as

the failed SBS server, the databases should mount.

Hi - all go here at the moment... :O(

I have rescued the databases (well, in fact the entire \Exchange directory )

from a customers failed SBS 2000 server.

I want to rescue their old mail and ultimately transfer it to their new

SBS2003

Having some time yesterday, I quickly installed SBS2000 on some spare kit,

in the hope that I can pull in the old Exchange data and somehow extract the

email for the 3 users. The plan would be to get as far as 3x .pst files,

that I could then import into Outlook 2003 on the new SBS2003 system

First time I've had to do this, so if anyone has any experience it would be

useful. In the meamtime I'm combing the newsgroups ...

Hi there,

Not starting, but then may be that is due to me being half-asleep whilst

trying to sort out the log files etc.

In a couple of nights time I'll start earlier and try eseutil to clean

things up - I'd forgotten about 'exmerge' ! -thanks.
