I am attempting to upgrade from SBS 2000 to SBS 2003. I have gone through the
"best practices" documents and tried to make the changes they suggest
including installing SBS SP-1 etc. When I attempt to run setup it does the
checks, gives me the 4 standard warnings (backup your data, no connection
sharing, upgrade licenses, and DS restore password). I accept the warnings
and continue. Setup begins but less than a minute into setup I get an error
message "Setup was interrupted because of either user intervention or an
unexpected error. Rerun Setup to continue." I have checked the logs that are
mentioned, none have any new entries. I get no new entries in the event
logs... Can anyone give me an idea where to look to move forward.
Note: there is another AD server with 2003 R2. I have run the R2-ADPREP to
accomplish this.
