Hi everyone,

actually i'm going to set up the DPM at our network. So far installation was

easy and now i'm going to add our servers to the protected groups (maybe

wrong translation. I'm using the german version).

I set up a group and added one member to it. Now i'd like to add another

member to that group, cause the second server should be protected by the

same schedule, but the Button 'Add Member' on the right is just disabled.

Also if i right click on the group, the first option is just disabled. I'm

able to rename the group, change the settings or to change the data volume

allocation (again i have a german version and maybe my translations are

slightly different from the original one). But adding a second member is not

possible.

Now i could set up a new group for every server, but that's what i don't

want to do. So why is that button disabled??

Best regards,

Hey Oliver!

If you look closely, there are 3 different "levels" of items in the list

of "Protection Groups" / "Servers" / and "Folders" (that is the English

translation...) and unfortunately from a usability standpoint, many of the

items in the Actions pane (including Add Members) only work when you are at

the correct "level". So for the Add Members to be enabled, you must

currently select the Protection Group level (right above the Server level,

and two levels above the folder level).

Just make sure you are clicking the correct Protection group which you wish

to add a member to. Also, this behavior affects the other action items, so

if one you need is disabled, try clicking at different levels to make it

become enabled.

Hope this helps and have a great weekend!

Karan - This absolutely stinks from a usability standpoint :-P.

The catch in this one seems to be that the newly created group is still

being initialized. When a replica is being created, the protection group

settings cannot be changed.

Please wait for the replica of the first member to be created and then

select the Protection Group and you should have the Add Member option

enabled.

Let us know how this goes.

Hi everyone,

seems to be the initializing problem. After a while the button was

available.

So far, thanks for your help.
