I have not found any documentation, but I assume that you can only have one 
 
instance of the DPM Console open at a time since I'm receiving the error 
 
"Another instance of the DPM Administrator Console is already running" when I 
 
RDP into the DPM server. If that is the case, is there a hack around this or 
 
is this a "feature" of DPM to control administration?

It is not possible to have multiple instance of DPM UI with DPM v1, and 
 
unfortunately no workarounds to get it working (except to kill the other 
 
process "mmc.exe"). We are fixing this in v2, so that multiple instances of 
 
the DPM UI can be brought up simultaneously.
