I posted a note on 6/19 (Moire effect) and would like to use this as an

example in a user group meeting to be held on 8/24. Is this chain likely to

still exist on 8/24 or will it have been deleted by then? Does it make any

difference if I go through the chain periodically like I'm looking at it?

How long do these postings last?

Tom

You can do the whole chain in one step by right-clicking on the top of the

chain and then select "copy to folder". But that way (and your way) lose the

indentations that show the "flow" of the conversations.

Your thread is still on the server now, but it appears that its life on the

server may be limited to two months (give or take a day or two). I would

open the newsgroup in Outlook Express (or your favourite newsreader) and

drag each item into a user-created folder, or onto the desktop - you may

have to rename each item as you drag it to enable the next to be saved.

Yes - which is why I have always moved posts one by one, and rename them to

keep some sort of order.

I normally move posts to a folder on the desktop, where they have to be

renamed anyway.
