Hi,

I want to scan a brochure and post it on the web.

I scanned the page at 300 dpi and saved the picture as BMP.

I tried everything to scale it down but the text turned fuzzy no matter what

I did.

Would you guys show me the trick to do this please?

Thanks.

The BMP file looks great. But of course after scaling the picture down and

convert to JPEG, everything turns fuzzy. I don't mind the picture but I

need the text in the brochure readable.

Here's a tip a few of us DIS scrapbookers have just stumbled on. We have

tried various methods of uploading a preview of our scrapbook layouts but

all of them result in fuzzy text and and textures look awful. We had been

using "save a copy for/email or web", changing the resolution etc etc etc.

All to no avail until I stumbled across this little gem in a forum:

In DIS10: File/save a copy for/Device. Select Custom size, select the

pixel size. (We use 500-600 for our previews.) Select the 65536 colors.

Save as JPG.

In DIS2006: File/save a copy for/Device. Select Custom size, select the

pixel size. Check "Scale to fit" and "Optimize file size". Save as JPG.

Text is no longer fuzzy and textures look great.

Hope this helps.
