ASP.NET, SQL Server, WPF, C#, VB.NET

I installed Digital Image Suite 2006 (DIS 2006) on my new laptop and the DVD 
 
drive became inoperable (yellow exclamation point.)  I tried to reinstall the 
 
driver, but that didn't help.  I used the Restore Point prior to the install 
 
of DIS 2006, and the DVD drive works.  I reinstalled DIS 2006 and the DVD 
 
quits working.  So now I am back at the restore point prior to the install of 
 
DIS 2006. Acer does not use special drivers, this is a MS XP SP2 DVD/CD 
 
driver that DIS 2006 is stepping on. 
 
Is there anyway to get help from MS with regards to this problem??  NO! 
 
Any ideas A) how to fix the problem, or B) how to get in touch with MS with 
 
regards to this problem so I can get a fix?
