vfpoledb.1 provider is not registered

Hi, I am new to vb.net an I am currently converting an existing vb5 app to vb.net.

I have been operting fine for weeks using the database but suddenly (for not reason that I can think of) i started getting the the error  "The 'vfpoledb.1' provider is not registered on the local machine." I do not recall installing any new software nor changing any settings.

I have allowed all the access rights to vfpoledb.dll that I can. I have reinstalled, deleted, unistalled and reinstalled but nothing I do will give ma access back.

Help does anyone have any idea that will help?
