Windows Vista - memory upgrade

i have purchased a second chip of memory and looks like both are not going to fit. i have sent ddr3 back already and the second one is ddr2 which represents the same as the one in the computer but the style of chip does not fit into the slot ???? i dont want to have to send this one back too

Hello,
There is no option to keep Memory if you are not having slot.
It would be better if you change ur Memory rather to change SLOT :P lol
So i think if your CPU has DDR2 then it must work. Check the company of RAM and then order it
