Windows Vista - email counter

Something happened with windows live messenger where its not giving an account of how many unread emails are in my account. How can I get this back? More than likely a box somewhere in the options has become unchecked or something. Where is that at? I'm ruinning vista ultimate.

have you checked the datetime on your pc is correct?

yes date and time are correct
