Windows Vista - dxdiag problem

Hi, I'm running Ultimate Vista and i needed to turn down my sound
acceleration so i can get a game working properly, but when i went to DXdiag
to turn down the slider it wasn't there. Any other way of turning off sound
acceleration or Anyway of getting the slider?

it was actually a conflicting programe called AMD External Events Utility. I stopped it from starting up using msconfig (under services tab) restarted comp
