Windows Vista - downsizing photos

Could someone please tell me how to downsize  a received , attached photo in my email.Running Windows Vista

There are two ways to reduce the size of pictures that you attach to e-mail messages in Outlook 2010:

• Reduce the picture dimensions    Digital cameras can create very large images far in excess of the dimensions that most computer monitors can display full screen. Compressing the image to a smaller width and height can greatly reduce the file size. This option is available for pictures that are attached, but not displayed within the message body.
• Compress the picture resolution    By decreasing the dots per inch (DPI), file size is reduced, but the quality of the image is also impacted. Displaying images on a computer monitor requires a lower DPI than images that are printed. If the recipient doesn’t need higher quality resolutions, use a lower setting. This option is available for pictures that appear within the message body.

Try this AND LET EM KNOW.

If you want this in your are receiving mails then you cannot do since you are receiver and receiving  what others have sent to you , you are just receiving. but if you are a sender for mails then you can use light quality version of images to do it.

Under Vista, the easiest way to generate a smaller, resized image is the following:

1. Double-click image to open in default Vista image viewer (Windows Photo Gallery)
2. Click the "E-mail" toolbar icon.
3. Pick a size and click OK.

follow these steps

Go to image and right click, then open with paint. Now a paint window opens and click on image and then where it says 100% by 100% change to 50% by 50%.Click ok. then click on file and then save as and now the image will be resized.

If you open Windows Photo Gallery, highlight the picture, click on "E-mail" on the toolbar, it will offer you the chance to downsize, and attach it to an email.
